Tabbi Ashmore Returns Home in Just 3 Weeks, Half the Expected Recovery Time
After an unexpected stroke, Tabbi Ashmore exceeded rehabilitation expectations at Midtowne Meadows Health & Rehab and achieved her goal of attending her grandson’s graduation.
When Tabbi Ashmore suffered an unexpected stroke, she faced a challenging road to recovery. But through it all, she had one very important goal: to be there for her grandson Kooper’s graduation.
That goal became a powerful source of motivation throughout her rehabilitation journey at Midtowne Meadows Health & Rehab in Midlothian, Texas.
A Personalized Approach to Stroke Rehabilitation
After spending a week in the hospital following her stroke, Tabbi came to Midtowne Meadows to begin rehabilitation.
Our in-house therapy team took the time to understand not only her rehabilitation needs but also what mattered most to her personally. When they learned how important attending Kooper’s graduation was, they made that milestone part of her recovery journey.
Photos of Tabbi’s grandchildren were placed in her room, serving as daily reminders of the people and moments she was working so hard to get back to.
At Midtowne Meadows, we believe rehabilitation should be centered around each patient’s individual needs, abilities, and personal goals. For Tabbi, that meant working toward the strength and independence she needed to return home and attend an unforgettable family celebration.
Six Weeks Expected. Home in Three!
Initially, Tabbi was expected to need approximately six weeks of rehabilitation.
But with tremendous determination, consistent effort, and the encouragement and support of her therapy team, she exceeded expectations.
After just three weeks, Tabbi was able to return home, cutting her anticipated rehabilitation stay in half!
And most importantly, she accomplished the goal that had motivated her from the beginning.
She made it to Kooper’s graduation!
For Tabbi and her family, that moment represented much more than attending a ceremony. It was a meaningful milestone in her recovery and a reminder of everything she had worked to accomplish.
Continuing Her Recovery Through Outpatient Therapy
Although Tabbi returned home ahead of schedule, her rehabilitation journey didn’t stop there.
Today, she continues receiving outpatient therapy at Midtowne Meadows, building on the progress she made during her initial rehabilitation stay.
Having access to continued therapy allows patients like Tabbi to keep working toward their individual recovery goals while enjoying the comfort and independence of being back home.
We are honored to continue supporting Tabbi as she moves forward in her recovery.
More Than Rehabilitation. Getting Back to What Matters Most.
Every patient who comes to Midtowne Meadows has a unique story, different challenges, and personal goals that make their recovery meaningful.
For some, it’s returning to everyday routines. For others, it’s regaining independence or getting back to the activities they love. And sometimes, it’s something as special as watching a grandson walk across the stage at graduation.
Tabbi’s story is a wonderful example of how individualized rehabilitation, a dedicated therapy team, and personal determination can make a meaningful difference.
We are incredibly proud of Tabbi and grateful that she and her family entrusted Midtowne Meadows with her care.
